Dr. Kimber Munford

Postdoctoral Scholar  ·  University of Waterloo

Hello! I am an environmental microbiologist with a passion for understanding biogeochemical cycling in contaminated environments.

I'm currently in Dr. Laura Hug's lab at the University of Waterloo. In Dr. Hug's lab, I'm utilizing multi-omics tools (metagenomics, metabolomics, proteomics) to investigate microbe-metal-organo interactions in landfill leachate. I'm also doing some work on viruses, organic contaminants, and more.

Outside the lab, I love teaching, singing, reading, and being involved in my community.

~ Catch me this summer presenting at the International Society for Microbial Ecology Symposium in Auckland and The Canadian Societies for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Conference in Toronto! ~
